History Parkes

stories, photos, anecdotes….. sharing the past

About

History Parkes is managed by staff at Parkes Shire Library. Its purpose is to share stories, photos, anecdotes, about the history of the Parkes Shire, NSW Australia. This includes the towns of Parkes, Peak Hill, Alectown, Bogan Gate, Trundle, Tullamore. If you wish to share a story, or have a comment, please contact Parkes Library – library@parkes.nsw.gov.au.

A great quantity of this collection is information that is available from other sources. However one of our aims is to engage the community and have members of the Parkes Shire donate and share their stories and photographs – many of them unpublished in any form until now. All unpublished materials donated to the Parkes History blog have been used with the permission of the donors.
